Pine Tree Seafood & Produce Co. in Scarborough, Maine, located on 655 Us Route 1., is seeking a reliable and personable sales associate to join our team at our busy seafood market in Southern Maine.
As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers, ensuring a clean and organized market, and assisting with daily tasks. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and hard-working.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes customers by greeting them and offering them assistance.
- Directs customers by escorting them to our products.
- Advises customers by providing information on products.
- Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards.
- Use judgment to solve customer problems
- Maintains scheduling commitments
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Assist customers with selecting fresh seafood and making purchase decisions
- Maintain a clean and organized market, including restocking and cleaning displays
- Receive and process seafood deliveries
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist with additional tasks as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in a customer service or sales role, preferably in a food retail environment
- Knowledge of seafood varieties and cooking methods preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
